Pricing and payment
Pricing and payment
How much does this cost?
Three flat fees. The Watch is $895. The Shield is $2,495. The Legacy is $4,495. Add-ons are flat-fee too. There is no hourly billing on any plan.
When do I pay?
You pay $500 at engagement, after your consultation, when you've decided to move forward. The remaining balance is due at the document signing meeting. The $500 deposit is earned upon receipt because we begin drafting immediately.
What if I change my mind?
If you decide not to move forward before the document signing meeting, you've still paid for the work we've already done (drafting, design, and consultation). The deposit covers that work. The balance is only owed when documents are signed and delivered.
Do you take payment plans?
The deposit-and-balance structure is the standard payment plan. If you need additional flexibility, mention it on your consultation. We've never let payment timing be the reason a family didn't get a plan in place.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes. We process payments through Stripe. Cards, ACH, and digital wallets all work.

Eligibility and scope

Do I have to be active duty?
No. We serve active, retired, separated, and reserve officers, plus their spouses. We also serve adult children of officers who want to help their parents get this in place.
I'm not a police officer. Can I still hire you?
Right now we're focused on Oklahoma law enforcement specifically. We're expanding to fire and EMS in the next phase. If you're a first responder of any kind and want to be on the list when we open up your category, fill out the form and we'll let you know.
What states do you serve?
Oklahoma. Aaron is licensed in Oklahoma and Blue Line Legacy serves Oklahoma residents. If you have property in another state, we coordinate with local counsel as needed (this is an add-on service).
I already have a will from years ago. Do I need a new one?
Probably yes. If your will is more than five years old, your life has changed (kids, marriage, divorce, home purchase, promotion, new assets), or it was drafted by a generic online service, it's worth a fresh look. The good news: a new plan is a flat fee. No surprises.
Process and logistics
Process and logistics
How long does this take?
The Watch takes about two weeks from intake to signed documents. The Shield takes about three. The Legacy takes about four.
Do I have to come into an office?
No. The whole process runs on Google Meet, text, and email. Signing happens with a notary we coordinate, either virtually or near you.
How fast do you respond when I reach out?
When you submit the form on our site, you'll get a text within minutes. Often within one minute. We're serious about that.
Can my spouse be on the call?
Yes, and we recommend it. Most decisions in estate planning are joint decisions. The consultation works better when both of you are there.
What if I need to update my plan later?
Life changes. So do plans. We offer an Annual Plan Review at $195 that handles the typical updates (new child, new asset, new beneficiary, address change). If you need significant restructuring, we'll quote that as a flat fee at the time.

What's the difference between a will and a trust?
A will tells the probate court who gets what when you die. A trust holds your assets so they don't go through probate court at all. Probate is public, slow, and expensive. A funded trust avoids it. The Watch is a will-based plan. The Shield and The Legacy are trust-based plans.
Why does it matter to avoid probate?
Probate in Oklahoma typically takes six to twelve months and costs the estate thousands of dollars in legal fees. During that time, your spouse may not have access to accounts, the home, or other assets. A funded trust avoids all of it.
What happens to my firearms?
This is one of the most important questions for officers, and most generic estate plans get it wrong. We offer a Firearms Bequest Schedule ($195) that names beneficiaries for specific firearms by serial number. For NFA items (suppressors, SBRs, machine guns), we offer an NFA Gun Trust ($595) that handles the legal complexity of those items.
What about my pension and departmental life insurance?
Beneficiary designations on these accounts override your will or trust. If you got married, divorced, or had kids and never updated those forms, the wrong person may inherit. We review and help you update these as part of The Shield and The Legacy.
Will Aaron be the attorney handling my plan, or will it be passed to someone else?
Aaron handles every consultation personally and handles the legal work himself. Behind him, our team handles intake, scheduling, and document logistics so nothing slows down. As the firm grows, additional attorneys may join the team.

Where do my original documents live?
With you. We deliver the originals in a Blue Line Legacy portfolio. We keep digital copies and certified copies on file. Some clients add the Document Replacement and Storage upgrade ($95) for a premium portfolio and family vault access.
Do you store originals for me?
We don't recommend it. The original signed documents should be somewhere your spouse or executor can find them quickly. A fireproof home safe or a safe deposit box (with a co-titled holder) is standard.
Will my family know what to do when the time comes?
That's exactly the right question, and it's the one most plans don't answer. The Legacy includes a Letter of Instruction specifically for this. Even on The Watch and The Shield, we walk you through how to communicate the plan to your family. We can also add the Family Letter Package ($295) which includes personal letters from you to your spouse, kids, and parents.
